SPSS and e-academy to Distribute SPSS 15 to the Academic Market

OTTAWA, October 11th, 2006 - e-academy Inc. is proud to announce the availability of SPSS 15 on its online storefront. Starting today, qualified academic buyers will be able to upgrade to the latest version of this leading statistical analysis package. The exclusive offer covers all students, faculty and staff at most North American higher education institutions. Upon purchase, buyers will have the choice of downloading the software directly from the Internet. As with version 14, e-academy's unique distribution model allows students to rent SPSS software at dramatically reduced prices, rather than purchase the more expensive perpetual licenses. Through this innovative license agreement, students can lease the software for six months at $45.99, or for one year at $79.99. Grad packs are also available.

e-academy's online fulfillment system has academic eligibility rules built in allowing it to authenticate members of the academic community prior to enabling a purchase via the Internet. Students who wish to purchase the software will have a choice between obtaining it on a CD or downloading it direct from the e-academy website. e-academy's secure encryption process protects software publishers against piracy while allowing students 24-hour access to the software they need. Once installed, all features of the software will be available throughout the rental period and purchase includes an option to renew upon expiration.

Since its inception, e-academy has designed solutions that allow institutions of higher education to reduce costs and concentrate on their core mission, higher learning. In fact, e-academy pioneered software rental agreements, which allows student to use state-of-the-art software at home for a limited amount of time - typically the length of a course - at greatly reduced prices. Software vendors gain volume, while building long-term relationship with students, universities get to free up lab time and simplify license management requirements, and students can learn on the latest software titles at prices that effectively deter piracy.

"It's another step toward reducing the total cost of technology for academic institutions" said Ram Raju, CEO of e-academy Inc. "SPSS is a very important software publisher for higher education, and e-academy's user authentication and delivery system ensures that students, faculty and staff are well-served. This demonstrates to e-academy that rental software for post-secondary students and its availability online is in high demand. Early adopters such as SPSS will clearly benefit from e-academy's unique distribution model."
