e-academy and Quark Partner to Deliver QuarkXPress 8 Electronically Across North America

Ottawa, ON - May 26, 2009 -- e-academy Incorporated and Quark Inc. announce their partnership to deliver software electronically to the academic community across North America. With this new program, all eligible students, faculty and staff can receive exclusive savings on Quark® software products such as QuarkXPress® 8, with savings of up to 80 percent off commercial retail prices. e-academy will allow users to download Quark software instantly, eliminating the cost of shipping. This will also reduce the waste of boxed products, along with the overall carbon footprint on the environment.

The new program, called Quark Academic Electronic Licensing Program (QAeLP) is free for academic institutions to enroll. Upon enrollment the software distribution is managed entirely through an ELMS (e-academy License management System) Webstore, which is powered by e-academy. Once the institutional branded ELMS WebStore has been created, e-academy will manage the verification process of academic users, offer software products, collect payment, provide the software download, and ensure a secure delivery of the software serial key or activation code to the end-user.

A Quark Publisher Center has been created to provide detailed information about the QAeLP program, as well as information on how to enroll. If an institution does not currently have an ELMS site, one can be quickly and easily configured at the time of enrollment. This center is available at http://www.onthehub.com/quark.

QuarkXPress 8 is the leading design and page-layout software program in the world. It delivers a new intuitive user interface, easy Flash® authoring, stunning new typographic features, native Illustrator® file import, and global publishing features. Visit http://8.quark.com for a complete overview of the new features as well as tutorials.

"e-academy is pleased to enter into a new partnership with Quark to provide an eco-friendly delivery solution of their flagship product QuarkXPress 8. In addition to being a green solution, electronic software delivery allows for significant savings to be passed on to the buyer," states, Ken Farquhar Director of Sales, e-academy.

Mark Benfer, Senior Vice President of North American Sales for Quark said, "We're excited to partner with e-academy to offer educators, students, and staff the convenience of buying and downloading QuarkXPress 8 electronically at a great price. e -academy's ELMS helps Quark to continue to demonstrate our commitment to delivering innovative desktop publishing software to the education community."
