SACRAMENTO - The Foundation of California Community Colleges (FCCC) has
launched collegesoftware.org in partnership with e-academy Inc., and Microsoft
Corporation. FCCC has worked closely with e-academy in developing the online
store to provide drastically reduced price software directly to students
of the 108 California Community Colleges. FCCC has also partnered with the
Association of Independent California Colleges and Universities to extend
the opportunity to students at those 76 institutions.
"We are very pleased to finally provide significant software benefits to
students," said Dr. Larry Toy, President/CEO of the Foundation. "Our previous
programs were exclusively for college faculty and staff. We think it is
important that students have access to the software that is not only most-used
by their colleges and instructors, but also in the workplaces they are preparing
for."
This program is available through a Student Select license agreement between
FCCC and Microsoft Corporation. Products provided at collegesoftware.org
include Office XP Standard, Office XP Professional, Office X Mac, and Windows
XP Professional Upgrade, all at discounts of up to 80% off retail prices.
The collegesoftware.org online store is driven by e-academy Inc.'s proprietary
License Management System (ELMS) technology. e-academy Inc. is the market
